Hello, I’m Chris!

I am a Student and Freelance Graphic Designer based in the South of England, specialising in the gaming industry.

Graphic design has been my passion for most of my teenage life. I’ve been fascinated by the complex and unique styles of publishing which have led me to pursue further education to enhance my design skills. Currently, I’m enrolled in the Higher National Diploma Course at Bournemouth & Poole College. This course offers unique styles of teaching offered by tutors and live clients. Three of six projects have taken me out into the field for real clients. For example, the “Speak Out, Report It” Campaign; Wessex Water recruitment ads; and the ‘Poole Goes Vintage’ advertisements.

As a freelance graphic designer, I’ve supported Twitch and YouTube content creators, fulfilling my need for experience and exploring my creativity. For those content creators I’ve provided high quality graphics, new and intuitive designs for their online brands, and explored designs for t-shirts, websites, logos, etc. Also, I’ve produced various graphic media to businesses such as, Bandle Music, The Paradice Gaming Cafe, and TRiiiTON.

During these unique experiences, I’ve worked with some outstanding clients and amazing people for the past few years. For example, without the Twitch and YouTube content creator Joel (“Orb”), some of my design experience wouldn’t be possible. I’ve provided numerous graphic design elements to fulfil many of his needs and could not thank him enough and others for all of the opportunities they have provided for me.

Since October 2015 I have been working with Joel (“Orb”) as a Graphic Designer, I have been creating varied material for him; from Social Posts for games to a personal website.

He has provided me with the experience of a real life situation, working together to create something visually amazing. Working with Joel has been amazing, and hopefully will continue to be!

For the last year I have had the pleasure of working with Tom, 72hrs, on a variety of different projects revolving around his Twitch Stream. He has offered both a critical and engaging workplace which hundreds of people see daily. I created and developed his brand to meet his specification and provided him with the tools and resources for him to continue building his brand. I am humbled to be working with him on a regular basis and I hope to keep supporting his content as well as continuing to producing the quality design work he is looking for.

I’ve worked on his brand identity, stream overlay, website and a selection of other small projects which he has asked for.

Bournemouth and Poole College

During my time at Bournemouth and Poole College I was fortunate to have the opportunities to apply College Projects to real life clients. Most recently I have worked on Advertisement Campaigns, with Wessex Water. Awareness ‘Speak Out’ Campaign with Poole Council, and an educational banner for Nepal International Arts Programme.

These clients have provided me with experience with presentations, client satisfaction and real work experience, all which has helped me develop my skills.

Southampton Solent University (Current)

For 2017/18 I will be studying at Southampton Solent University on their Graphic Design Top-Up course. This will provide me with a BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree; although the industry majorly looks for portfolio I wanted to gather some more knowledge and get some experience in another environment from what I am currently use to.

Being at Bournemouth and Poole College for 4 years provided me with a great range of experiences and provided me with the knowledge to get to where I am today. I’m excited to where this will lead me and can’t wait to share work I produce on the course on Dribbble and in my portfolio!
